June 26, 2014 01:00 PM EST
New York, NY

Pilot Health Tech NYC is an initiative launched in 2013 by the City of New York and the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). In a strategic review of the life sciences and healthcare sectors in New York City called Eds & Meds NYC 2020, the NYCEDC identified a portfolio of initiatives to support companies and entrepreneurs across the value chain, addressing unmet needs identified by senior stakeholders in both the healthcare and life sciences communities, including opportunities for collaboration, funding, and human capital development.

The Pilot Health Tech NYC program provides a total of $1,000,000 in funding to ten (10) or more innovative pilot projects to take place in New York City.

On June 26th, at 'Pilot Day', the winners of the Pilot Health Tech NYC 2014 initiative will be announced and they in turn will pitch their products to an audience of 250 leaders in healthcare and tech in NYC. Last year’s 10 winning companies have raised a total of $23 million, partnered with elite NYC health providers, and are set to enroll 1,000 New Yorkers in Pilot-funded projects.
